Comelec Biliran launches ‘Bungsaranan Connect’

NAVAL, Biliran (PIA) -- The Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Biliran has launched on October 6 the ‘Bungsaranan Connect,’ an online information dissemination platform, which will serve as direct source of accurate, reliable, and timely information of Biliranons on election-related matters.

During the launching of its maiden episode, Provincial Election Supervisor Sabino Mejarito said the Bugsaranan Connect was created by their office to connect directly with the Biliranons on relevant information from their office and not from any other sources.

Bungsaranan Connect, which bears the tagline “Your Voice, Your Vote, Your Frontyard Connection,” allows residents to ask questions through social media using the Agency’s official FB Page, Comelec - Province of Biliran and participate actively in the upcoming election. The platform delivers precise and timely election information and cultivate trust within the community, which is indispensable for credible elections, Mejarito explained.

Initially, Bugsaranan Connect is scheduled every Tuesday for the whole month of October from 11 a.m. to 12 noon and livestreamed using the official FB Page. Its content segments include valuable insights on election-related topics, engagement of on-air questions, live discussions and dialogues about election matters and local issues where people can ask questions directly to the Comelec officials.

Aside from its launching episode on October 6, municipal election officers Salud Vida Donaldo and Lorena Madeja discussed during its October 10 episode the activities undertaken such as covenant signing, unity walk, candidates seminar, candidates forum, readiness of polling centers, among others.

On October 17, Bungsaranan Connect episodes will tackle about prohibited acts during campaign period as per Fair Elections Act and updates on kontra-bigay to be hosted by Belinda Gadugdug and Marietta Ventulan while on October 24, discussions will center on Comelec Resolution No. 10946 by Atty. Hassile Entatano and Deogracias Salas.
