PIA Deputy Director-General Katherine Chloe S. De Castro and PIA Regional Head Angely L. Mercado are now representing the country in the two-day Workshop on Developing the Guideline on Management of Government Information in Combatting Fake News and Disinformation in the Media in Jakarta, Indonesia on March 2-3, 2023.

The workshop is a project of the Sub-Committee of Information (SCI) of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Committee on Culture and Information (COCI).

The workshop aims to provide guidance on how to effectively manage government information to combat the spread of fake news and disinformation in the media.

The participants from the ASEAN Member States are expected to share mechanisms and best practices on how their respective governments fight fake news and disinformation in the media.
