President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. graces the celebration of 50 years of Philippine Tourism with the theme: "Ginto: Greater Innovations, New Tourism Opportunities" held at the Tent City of Manila Hotel in Manila City on Tuesday, June 27, 2023.
On the celebration of the golden year of the Department of Tourism (DOT), President Marcos together with Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco and other officials, led the unveiling of the country’s enhanced tourism campaign “Love the Philippines”.
Secretary Frasco described the campaign as a timely, necessary, and innovative brand enhancement aimed at uniting Filipinos in promoting and showcasing the extraordinary beauty, cultural treasures, and other tourism offerings of the country—emerging and yet to be developed—post-pandemic, citing that the enhancement was borne out of intention to highlight the country’s immense wealth of heritage, cultural and natural assets, and the necessity to evolve and innovate considering the changes the COVID-19 pandemic has brought to the travel and tourism industry as a whole.
The Department of Tourism (DOT), through Secretary Frasco, awards a special plaque of recognition to President Marcos to honor his father, the late President Ferdinand Marcos, Sr., in recognition of his instrumental contributions to the Philippine tourism industry, primarily the creation of the Department of Tourism 50 years ago.
