TACLOBAN CITY -- The Philippine Statistics Authotority (PSA) - Leyte Provincial Statistical  Office has officially opened 13 Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) Registration  Centers in the remaining municipalities of Leyte which include Hindang, Inopacan,  Julita, La Paz, Macarthur, Matag-ob, Pastrana, San Miguel, Sta. Fe, Tabontabon,  Tolosa, Tunga, and Villaba.

With the opening of these additional registration centers, all the 43 cities/municipalities  in Leyte including Tacloban City have operational registration center which caters to  registrants 5 years old and over. 

As of 28 June 2021, there is a total of 872,398 individuals who were successfully  registered to PhilSys in Leyte. This translates to 51.5% of the 1,694,118 target  registrants for Leyte in 2021.

In cooperation with the Philippine Postal Corporation, the delivery of PhilID Cards has  also started in some areas in the province. Those who are done with PhilSys  Step 2 Registration are advised to standby because the IDs will be delivered right  directly to the indicated address during the application process.

PhilSys aims to promote ease of doing business with both the government agencies  and private offices. With the PhilID, an individual will no longer need to present  numerous cards and documents to prove one’s identity. 

PSA would like to express its sincerest gratitude to all Local Chief Executives, Local  Officials and PhilSys Focal Persons for their unwavering support and assistance in the  implementation of PhilSys in their respective localities.

In the time of pandemic, PSA still wants to achieve its most important function - bringing  efficient and quality service near to the Filipino people.
