MANILA -- Port of Aparri, in collaboration with Port of Legazpi, organized an online dialogue for the interport Governance Sharing to impart and adopt each port’s best practices last July 02, 2021.
Said activity served as a platform for the aforementioned governance partner ports to share their initiatives and locally-utilized methods in improving the operations of their Customer Care Centers (CCC).
The CCC, one of the Customs Bureau’s latest client-satisfaction-geared projects, is a modern one-stop shop facility and a customs service center that will be manned by trained customs service officers of the Bureau who will provide centralized document receiving and releasing, information kiosks, gate pass issuance, payment booth and other customs-related inquiries and transactions.
Being one of the first implementers of the CCC project, the Port of Legazpi, through Mr. John P. Matias, Head of CCC Legazpi, shared their best practices on Competency, Inventory and Maintenance, Business Processes and Payment Management.
Port of Aparri CCC on the other hand took note of Mr. Matias’ inputs that are worth emulating and fit to the distinct set-up of the very young yet promising Aparri CCC.
Governance sharing, one of the key Performance Governance System (PGS) elements, is an avenue for customs units and offices to share and learn homegrown best practices from the others and integrate them into their daily operations. (BOC)
