QUEZON CITY -- The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), through its Mindanao Cluster 3 (MC3), entered into a partnership with Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) for the establishment of a Digital Transformation Hub in Davao City on July 6, 2021.
“Your DICT recognizes the need to help Filipino educators, learners, and workers advance in the digital economy during the new normal. With this, we are establishing Digital Transformation Centers or Hubs across the country that will offer various digital trainings and services to different sectors of our society,” DICT Secretary Gregorio “Gringo” B. Honasan II said.
The Digital Transformation Hub is an “infrastructure equipped with the latest multi-purpose technologies that may cater to a wide range of audiences from local policy-makers and city administrators; distance learners and open university practitioners; start-ups and rural impact developers; technopreneurs, applications and content developers; researchers and network engineers; as well as those not fairly exposed or have no access to ICT, such as elementary and secondary students, indigenous people and differently-abled.”
DICT MC3 said that both the public and private sectors can work and interact with each other through the hub for the betterment of Davao City’s ICT industry.
“This agreement offers an excellent opportunity to expand educational and training cooperation between us (DICT and AdDU), particularly because of its true emphasis placed on public service by both institutions,” DICT-MC3 Regional Director Alimbzar P. Asum stated.
