MANILA -- The Philippines received 250,800 Moderna vaccine doses on Thursday, July 15, 2021.
Of the latest batch,194,400 shots were procured by the national government, while 56,400 doses will be for the use of private firms led by International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI).
This latest delivery is the second shipment from the United States-based vaccine maker. The first batch, consisting of 249,600 doses, was delivered on June 27.
A total of 20 million Moderna vaccine doses were secured through a tripartite agreement signed between the government and the private sector.
The national government was represented by Health Secretary Francisco Duque III, Health Usec. Carol Tanio, Atty. Wilben M. Mayor, Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process assistant secretary and chief of staff, Office of the Secretary; and Dr. Ted Herbosa, adviser to the National Task Force Against COVID-19.
As of July 15, a total of 22,030, 710 COVID-19 vaccine doses arrived in the country since February. (National Task Force Against COVID-19)
