Customs clears 1M Sinovac vaccines

PASAY CITY -- The Bureau of Customs (BOC) NAIA cleared 1,000,000 doses of Sinovac vaccines on July 14, 2021, which arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 via Cebu Pacific Air Flight 5J-671.

The 1M vaccines were immediately pre-cleared on July 13, 2021, upon submission of all pertinent documents by the consignee to the BOC through the One-Stop-Shop of BOC-NAIA.

The arrival of the said vaccines was witnessed by Department of Health (DOH) Undersecretary Ma. Carolina Vidal-Taiño, DOH - Director of Supply Chain Management Service, Dr. Ariel I. Valencia, NTF Vaccine Czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., and District Collector Carmelita Talusan of the Port of NAIA.

Upon arrival, the COVID-19 vaccines were immediately loaded in reefer vans and was transported to Pharmaserv Cold Storage Facility in Marikina, underguarded by Customs-NAIA CoVax Task Force and other enforcement agencies.
As of date, more than 21.5M doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been cleared and released by the Bureau of Customs since February 2021. Of which, 13M are Sinovac vaccines (Coronavac), 5.7M are AstraZeneca, 2.48M are Pfizer, 312K are Sputnik V and 249.6K are Moderna vaccines.
Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Bureau of Customs ports under the leadership of Commissioner Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero, ensures expeditious facilitation of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Medical Supplies, and the time-sensitive COVID-19 vaccines. All BOC ports continuously conduct inter-port briefings and sharing of best practices with other agencies, to ensure the steady supply of vaccines in all parts of the country. (BOC)
