Philippine Red Cross continues vaccination amid Typhoon Fabian and Habagat

MANDALUYONG CITY -- Torrential rain and flooding will not stop the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) from vaccinating as many people as it can. Even at the height of the combined rainfall of Typhoon Fabian and Habagat hitting the metropolis, PRC's Bakuna Centers continue to go full speed on the vaccination program.

"Hindi tayo titigil. As long as there are vaccine doses, the men and women of the Philippine Red Cross will continue to vaccinate people come hell or high water. We just received 5000 Sinovac doses from the government ready for administration. We are waiting for additional doses to increase implementation of the program. Bumagyo man, bumaha man, ang mga Bakuna Centers natin ay magtutuloy-tuloy, kaya mag-register na kayo," said PRC Chairman and CEO Richard J. Gordon.

As of July 25, 2021, PRC already vaccinated a total of 48,742 people. 45,560 of these are through the 13 PRC Bakuna Centers while 3,182 individuals were vaccinated via the three PRC mobile vaccine centers, also called the Bakuna Bus

PRC is adamant in helping the government reach its vaccination goals, establishing vaccination centers in the various areas within the National Capital Region. There are also Bakuna centers in the provinces of Bulacan, Tarlac, Olongapo, Cavite, and Iligan in Mindanao.

PRC also vaccinated 829 OFWs under the Philippine Government Moderna Program Initiative while 758 clients were inoculated under the PRC Moderna Program.

"We are also opening an additional Bakuna Center going south on EDSA right after Boni Avenue before PRC's National Headquaters," added Chairman Gordon.

"Continue to practice health protocols which are using face masks and face shields, handwashing, and phyical distancing. But the most important is to get yourselves vaccinated to protect not only yourselves but also those you come into close contact with, including your family, friends, and coworkers," concluded the Chairman.
