PRC continues operation at the Lung Center of the Philippines

MANDALUYONG CITY -- The Philippine Red Cross extends its Emergency Field Hospital (EFH) operation located at the Lung Center of the Philippines (LCP) due to the rising cases of Delta variant in the country.

The EFH at LCP started in April of this year to support the hospital in its operations, serving as an emergency room extension equipped with basic ward facilities that cater to mild to moderate cases.

"Laging handa ang Philippine Red Cross na tumulong sa ngangailangan lalo na ngayong pandemya. Hindi natin hahayaan na hindi makatanggap ng atensyong medikal ang ating mga kababayan na naghihirap," PRC Chairman and CEO Sen. Richard J. Gordon said.

Red Cross’ EFH has a 100-bed capacity and currently has 65 patients admitted and being cared for.

Due to the rising cases of the Delta variant in the country, Gordon also urges the people to get vaccinated as soon as possible. (Philippine Red Cross)
