EODB-ART Council approves motion to form task group to integrate all business processes in CBP

QUEZON CITY -- The Ease of Doing Business and Anti-Red Tape (EODB-ART) Advisory Council approved a motion to create a task group that will focus on integrating business processes in the Central Business Portal (CBP).

Secretary Jeremiah Belgica, Director General of the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA), said the task group will be comprised of members of all partner agencies from the EODB-ART Advisory Council. Private stakeholders may also be tapped to join the team.

They will conduct business processing mapping for all permits nd licenses involved in the entire business cycle. They will then come up with a design that can be integrated in the CBP.

The CBP is a single digital platform for registering businesses in the country. This was established by ARTA through a partnership with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and other key agencies.

Its creation is a major provision in Republic Act No. 11032 or the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018.

The EODB-ART approved ARTA’s motion to form the task group during their 14th regular meeting on 28 July 2021.

The Authority’s proposal came a few days after President Rodrigo Roa Duterte lauded the CBP and expressed hope that the next administrations will continue using the platform during his sixth and final State of the Nation Address (SONA) on 26 July 2021.

Through the establishment of the CBP, the length of days for registering businesses was reduced from 33 days and 13 steps to only three days. Belgica said they are aiming to further reduce this period to a single day by the end of President Duterte’s term.

Additional talks on the composition of the task group will be discussed on the next EODB-ART Advisory Council meeting. (ARTA)
