Signed into law in 2019, Republic Act No. 11463, otherwise known as the Malasakit Centers Act, mandates all DOH-run hospitals and the Philippine General Hospital to establish their Malasakit Centers to help low-income patients with their medical expenses.
To date, there are 132 Malasakit Centers nationwide, and Nueva Vizcaya locals can visit the Malasakit Center in Region II Trauma and Medical Center in Bayombong.
“One-stop shop po ‘yan, zero balance po ang target ng Malasakit Center. Lapitan n’yo lang po ang Malasakit Center diyan po sa inyong lugar,” said Go.
“Mga kababayan ko, kung kailangan n’yo po ng tulong sa pagpapagamot sa Maynila, sa Heart Center, magsabi lang po kayo sa aming opisina,” he added.
The Senator ended his remarks as he gave recognition to the local government leaders for working hand-in-hand to ensure their respective communities build back better amid the pandemic. The Senator also supported more infrastructure initiatives in the province, including the construction of multi-purpose buildings in Bambang; construction of municipal buildings in Kayapa; construction of an evacuation center in Dupax del Sur; road improvement in Ambaguio, Dupax del Norte, and Kayapa; the provision of potable water supply in Brgys. Baliling and Bacneng in Sta. Fe; and the acquisition of a dump truck and a multi-purpose vehicle in Quezon town.
Week-long relief efforts were conducted by Go’s staff from July 26 to 30 in several municipalities of Nueva Vizcaya, including Alfonso Castañeda, Aritao, Sta. Fe, Kasibu, Bambang, Dupax del Norte, Kayapa, Ambaguio, Solano, and Bagabag. (OSBG)
