QUEZON CITY -- The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has turned over a one (1) unit delivery truck to Mat-i Farmers MPC (MAFAMCO) in Claveria, Misamis Oriental to help the small farmers, particularly the qualified agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in the area to improve their agricultural productivity by providing them with market support and necessary facilities.
The truck was procured under the Linking Small Holder Farmers to Market with Microfinance (LinkSFARMM) project of the DAR.
DAR Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer (PARPO) II Maybelle T. Alcala said the department continuously provides support services to members of agrarian reform beneficiaries cooperatives (ARBOs) to help them develop their agri-enterprise activities.
She challenged the members of the cooperative, of which the main commodity is hot pepper, to increase their household income.
Alcala together with PARPO Shirley Guan Hing Arquiza AI., led the turn over of the delivery truck, which will be used to transport agriculture products from the farm to the market.
“The provision of the hauling truck will surely lessen the transportation cost of the cooperative in bringing their agricultural produce to the market,” Alcala said.
"Maraming salamat po at asahan nyo na iingatan po namin ang bigay ng DAR na delivery truck. Ito po ay napakalaking tulong para po mapalago ang aming kasalukuyang negosyo," ARC-MAFAMCO Chairman Serecio Z. Ido said.
