BUTUAN CITY -- The Disaster Response Management Division (DRMD) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga conducted a two-day Quick Response Team (QRT) Refresher Training for its staff on August 5-6, 2021 at Amontay Beach Resort, Nasipit, Agusan del Norte. 

The activity was conducted to provide avenue for the QRT members to help them review information, and to learn new skills needed for their respective functions during emergency operations. It would also provide them aid to keep important key points in the monitoring during operations and as keep them informed about the new developments and updates.

As the vice-chair for disaster response, the agency intends to equip its staff to expedite the humanitarian response or operations to meet the given time of service delivery as mandated in Republic Act 11032. 

During his opening message, OIC-Regional Director Ramel F. Jamen challenged the participants to assess previous relief operations to know the areas that need improvements and strategies to work on. 

“I challenge everyone here today to look back, assess ourselves on what we need to work on and improve - what strategies we need to improve our operations. I hope we are here today with one common aim and that is to improve for more efficient services,” stated OIC-RD Jamen. (DSWD-Caraga/PIA-Caraga)
