Cebu is expected to reach the one-million mark of administered vaccines as of Aug. 11.
Dr. Mary Jean Loreche, spokesperson of the Visayas COVID-19 Vaccination Operations Center, said the one-million jabs milestone would be reached on Aug. 11.
Cebu vaccination sites have reported having administered a total of 988,284 doses as of Aug. 10.
“I am confident that with only 11,716 doses more to jab today, the one million doses will be breached. Our average five-day vaccination jabs is at 24,592,” Loreche said.
She disclosed that the vaccination sites in the cities of Cebu, Mandaue, Lapu-Lapu, and Talisay and the municipalities of Consolacion, Minglanilla, and Naga were able to administer a total of 27,384 jabs on Aug. 10 alone.
This overshot the target of 19,692 set for that day.
During her briefing on vaccination held Aug. 11 morning, Loreche lauded Cebu’s vaccination efforts.
“Congratulations again and again to our LGUs, including our vaccination teams. Napakagaling po ninyong lahat,” Loreche said.
Of the 988,284 jabs administered, the first dose accounted for 601,392 while another 386,892 individuals have been fully vaccinated.
Cebu City used a total of 314,689 jabs, 179,269 for the first dose and 135,420 for the second dose.
Mandaue vaccinations reached a total of 186,875 individuals, 122,125 first doses, and 64,750 receiving their second dose.
Lapu-Lapu City registered a total of 154,452 doses, with 109,570 first doses and 45,024 individuals having received their second dose.
The rest of Cebu reported a total of 332,268 jabs administered. Of this number 190,570 individuals received their first dose while 141,698 were administered their second dose.
Meanwhile, the total vaccines administered in Central Visayas as of Aug. 10, 2021 has reached 1,339,855.
Bohol province reported a total of 148,249 for first and second doses administered.
Negros Oriental had used 158,848 jabs while Siquijor had used a total of 44,474 first and second doses. (PR/OPAV)
