PASAY CITY -- Some 813,150 doses of Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccines procured by the Philippine government arrived Wednesday evening, August 11, via DHL flight LD457.
Of these vaccine doses,102,960 shots were delivered to Cebu City today at around 6:35pm, while another 102,960 doses will be shipped to Davao City on Thursday, August 12.
The rest of the doses are allocated for the NCR and other areas in the country that are experiencing high cases of COVID-19.
This latest shipment is the third tranche of government-procured Pfizer doses delivered to the country by the American vaccine manufacturer.
A total of 1,751,490 Pfizer doses purchased by the government have so far been delivered to the country. The first shipment of 562,770 doses arrived on July 21, while another 375,570 doses were delivered on July 26.
The latest shipment of Pfizer vaccines is part of the 40 million doses the country has secured from the American pharmaceutical firm after signing a supply agreement last June 20.
Aside from the procured jabs, the national government also received a total of 2,472,210 donated Pfizer doses coming from the COVAX facility.
