NAVAL, Biliran -- The Department of Public Works and Highways - Biliran District Engineering Office (DPWH-DEO) under District Engineer Ferdinand A. Briones underwent a Remote Internal Quality Audit (RIQA) on August 4-6.
Following strict compliance on safety protocol due to Covid-19 pandemic, the audit was conducted via web streaming technology spearheaded by Engr. Victor S. Ong of DPWH Tarlac 1st DEO together with Ms. Aimah C. Busok of DPWH-National Capital Region, and Mr. Ress Acero of Samar 1st DEO
The RIQ Audit focuses on the different processes with regards to the implementation of Quality Management System (QMS) in conformance to ISO 9001:2015.
The main objective of the audit is to ensure continual improvement of the QMS of previously certified offices and to determine not only the effectiveness of the process and mandatory procedures in the QMS but also its conformance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015.
According to Engr. Ong, No Non-Conformities (NC) was observed during its audit to Biliran DEO and only few Opportunity For Improvement (OFI) has been noted that needs to be complied by the district office.
Findings on NC occur when OFI from previous audits are not being acted upon. These auditors follow-up on the corrective actions taken in response to previous non-conformities and identify areas of improvement for all processes.
“Marami kaming natutunan at naiintindihan, rest assured na ang kakulangan namin na hindi agad-agad magagawa, immediately we will act on that,” said Briones during its exit meeting with the auditors.
Overall, the result of the RIQ auditors shows that Biliran DEO is 100% compliant in the implementation of QMS in conformance to ISO 9001:2015.
The said internal audit will serve as guidance for DEOs of DPWH in preparation for the conduct of 3rd Party Audit in its journey for ISO 9001:2015 re-certification. (DPWH-BDEO)
