BUTUAN CITY -- The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Caraga will conduct the quarterly Crops Production Survey (CrPS) in all provinces of the region. The field enumeration for the Third Quarter 2021 CrPS will be undertaken from 19-31, August 2021.
The CrPS covers more than 280 crops sub-classified under three commodity groupings, namely Non-Food and Industrial Crops; Fruit Crops; and Vegetables and Root Crops. It aims to generate production estimates on crops other than rice and corn at the national, regional and provincial levels.
It has production, area planted/harvested and number of bearing trees/hills/vines as units of analysis. The data collection is done during the last 10 days of the second month of the quarter which is conducted by the hired Statistical Researchers (SRs) and/or regular staff through face-to-face paper and pencil interview (PAPI).
The SRs and Field Supervisors are reminded to strictly observe proper health protocols in dealing with respondents. Moreover, the PSOs are enjoined to explore the use of phone, email and other ways to collect information needed in the surveys whilst minimizing face-to-face contact with respondents.
All the data and information collected by the hired SRs from sample farmer-producers shall be kept strictly confidential and shall not be used for purposes of taxation, investigation or regulation as provided under Article 55 of RA 10625 otherwise known as the Philippine Statistical Act of 2013.
