The Climate Reality Project Philippines, led by its Youth Cluster, presents the Southeast Asian premiere of Emmy award-winning director Joe Gantz’ documentary film “The Race to Save the World.”
This documentary features the passion and unwavering commitment of climate warriors, ages 15 to 72, in the trenches fighting climate change as they make their voices heard for a livable future. It brings an urgent and intimate portrait of the protests, arrests, courtroom drama, and family turmoil these activists endure as they push for change. Watch the trailer here.
Proceeds from this film screening and all of the additional donations will fund “Race to a Better Reality,” a project in partnership with Light of Hope PH, which aims to raise funds for the installation of solar panels in Pangan-an Elementary School.
Light Of Hope PH is a grassroots movement from Cebu aiming to help mitigate climate change and uplift the lives of the underserved and off-the-grid communities through the use of clean renewable energy technologies.
Pangan-an Elementary School is a school in one of the island communities of Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu that is vulnerable to flooding due to sea-level rise. The solarization of the facility would provide a clean energy source for light, ventilation, communication, and overall quality of education for its students. It will also ensure more reliable electricity for the community during disasters and emergencies.

You will also have exclusive access to Solar Rise, a side event featuring messages from the film’s activists, insights from local environmental organizations, breakout sessions, and more!
