CAMARINES SUR -- Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Secretary Brother John Castriciones led the distribution of certificates of land ownership award (CLOAs) and support services to 137 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in Bula, Camarines Sur on Thursday, August 19.
The agricultural lands, covering an area of 161.9 hectares are situated in the provinces of Bula, Baao and Bato.
Brother John said the issuance of titles shows that the government recognizes the role of farmers as true heroes of the country saying that without them, there will be no food on every Filipino’s table.
“It is but proper that they should be recognized, provided with assistance, and awarded proof that indeed they are Filipinos,” he said.
“Itong pamamahagi ng lupa, sa pamamagitan ng DAR, ay simula ng social justice kaya po pagyamanin at pagkakitaan niyo ang inyong lupang sinasaka,” Brother John added.
He urged the beneficiaries to do their part in improving their respective farmlands and elevating their economic lives.
“We promise to give you support services like farm machinery, access to credit, and various training to help you sustain the gains that you will reap from this land, which now, legally, are your own property,” Brother John said.
