19th Development Policy Research Month Kick-off Forum

QUEZON CITY (PIA) -- The Development Policy Research Month (DPRM) is celebrated every September pursuant to Malacañang Proclamation 247 in 2002 that underscores the vital contribution of policy research to national development and nation-building. The proclamation also designates the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) to coordinate all the activities lined up to mark and celebrate the DPRM.

The DPRM highlights the importance of policy research in crafting evidence-based plans, policies, and programs through the use of data and evidence in planning and policymaking by the country's leaders and decisionmakers. It also aims to raise the public's awareness of socioeconomic issues.

Each year, a theme is selected, which is usually a current or emerging development issue.

This year's DPRM theme is “Reset and Rebuild for a Better Philippines in the Post-Pandemic World” to emphasize that to be able to rebuild from the COVID-19 pandemic and create a better Philippines, we need to reset our paradigms and practices by balancing the interests of people, profit, and planet or by placing equal importance on economic, social, and environmental well-being and sustainability.

As a prelude to the 19th Development Policy Research Month (DPRM) celebration, we will be holding a virtual forum on September 2, from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, via CISCO Webex.

We have invited panelists from various sectors who will share their insights on how to promote ethical business and green and inclusive recovery and develop a robust and healthy workforce to rebuild the country into a post-pandemic nation that is equitable, sustainable, and resilient.

Join our virtual forum by registering through bit.ly/dprm2021kickoff or you may tune in to our FB page for the livestream of this event. Registration closes on Tuesday, August 31, 6 PM.

You may visit the DPRM website for more details: https://dprm.pids.gov.ph/.
