QUEZON CITY -- The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in the province of Cagayan recently conducted a one-day legal cliniquing, counseling and legal advice in the town of Pamplona to help agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) resolve their problems, issues, and concerns involving land reform.
Around 30 ARBs in the town were given advice and assistance on how to resolve the legal challenges they are facing on their lands.
Cagayan Regional Director Samuel Solomero said this activity would provide hope and encourage the ARBs to continue making their farms productive.
“Legal problems are stressful and could affect our ARBs productivity, the best thing we could do is help, be with them and support them in facing their challenges,” Solomero said.
Solomero explained that the activity also forms part of the zero case backlog policy and Agrarian Reform Justice on Wheels (ARJOW) of Secretary Brother John R. Castriciones to bring the agrarian services closer to the public.
The policy is in compliance with President Rodrigo Duterte’s instruction to resolve all cases and deliver legal assistance in a fair and speedy manner.
The activity was administered by Atty. Arjay Manauis and Atty. Kelly Penaflor of DAR provincial office in Cagayan, in collaboration with Municipal Agrarian Reform Program Officer Mitojane Magudattu. (DAR)
