QUEZON CITY -- The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in the province of South Cotabato recently turned over a utility vehicle, worth P240,000.00 to an agrarian reform cooperative in the town of Polomok and provided capacity training to selected chairpersons of the province’s Barangay Agrarian Reform Council (BARC), a local, multi-sectoral implementing body for the agrarian reform program.
The turned-over utility vehicle would benefit the Kalinga sa Koronadal Proper Multi-Purpose Cooperative (KKPMPC), with its 63 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) as well as other farmers in the area, would be able to utilize the farm equipment.
Chief Agrarian Reform Program Officer Lorna Garde said the utility vehicle would save them more time in transporting their farm yields as well as lesser expenses in renting other vehicles to transport their products.
“I would like to emphasize that you have now responsibilities to take good care of the truck, and strictly implement the policies set forth to ensure its functionality and sustainability,” Garde said.
As part of the turn-over ceremony, a trust agreement was signed to ensure that the recipients understand their obligations and other prohibitions of the project.
KKPMPC Chairperson Maribel Diaz expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the blessing they have received and committed to take good care of the project and ensure that it will serve its purpose.
