Sen. Go gives hope and support to communities in crisis in Metro Manila as he assures them of better access to health services through Malasakit Centers

PASAY CITY -- On Saturday, October 23, Senator Christopher “Bong” Go’s team sent assistance to communities in crisis throughout Metro Manila as part of his commitment to ensure that no one is left behind on the country’s path to pandemic recovery.

Kailangan pong magtulungan tayo, magbayanihan po tayo, at magmalasakit po tayo sa ating kapwa Pilipino,” urged Go in a video message.

Go’s team handed out financial assistance, grocery packs, meals, masks, face shields and vitamins to 414 tricycle drivers in Pasay City and 165 flashflood victims in Las Piñas City. Staff from the Department of Social Welfare and Development, in turn, gave additional financial assistance.

As Chair of Senate Committee on Health and Demography, Go then urged the beneficiaries to focus on their health and encouraged them to visit any of the 29 Malasakit Centers in Metro Manila should they need any government medical assistance to pay for their hospital bills.

The center is a one-stop shop where Filipinos, particularly poor and indigent patients, can conveniently access medical assistance programs offered by the government.

Meanwhile, the senator also asked eligible residents to participate in the national vaccination program to increase their protection against COVID-19.

Go appealed for cooperation and vigilance in order to overcome the pandemic as one nation.

“Magtulungan po tayo, mga kababayan ko. Importante pong malampasan natin itong krisis na ating kinakaharap bilang nagkakaisang mamamayang Pilipino,” Go said.

On July 27, Go’s staff handed out relief to 27 families victimized by a fire incident in Brgy. 60 Zone 7, Pasay City. On September 8, his team also visited Brgy. Pulang Lupa, Las Piñas City and handed out immediate assistance to a family who was similarly affected by a fire incident. (OSBG)
