MANDALUYONG CITY -- The Philippine Red Cross's (PRC) ambulance services have now given free emergency medical care to 4,556 individuals from January to October of this year alone. That number is only for the patients treated, 2,362 people were also provided with free ambulance transport services in the same period.
"The Philippine Red Cross Emergency Medical Services, the one handling our ambulance services is always ready to be dispatched when needed. Ang services ng ambulansiya, kasama ng mga highly trained ambulance personnel natin ay libre para sa mga mahihirap o indigent kababayan natin," said PRC Chairman and CEO Senator Dick Gordon.
The patients given free emergency medical care and ambulance transport are from all across the Philippines, as PRC has now more than 170 ambulance units spread across its 104 Chapters nationwide.

The PRC Emergency Medical Services can be considered to be at the top tier when it comes to prehospital care in the country. PRC's ambulance personnel undergoes rigorous training and follows strict standards and guidelines crafted by PRC as guided by its international counterparts Magen David Adom in Israel (MDA) and the American Red Cross (AmRC).
