Red Cross gives 40K liters of clean water to Manila areas hit by water shortage

MANDALUYONG CITY -- The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) sends its water tanker to various barangays in the City of Manila as communities grapple with water shortages during the last days of October.

PRC distributed 40,000 liters of potable water to several barangays affected by the Maynilad pipe realignment works from October 30 to 31, 2021. The realignment work is to give wat to the Department of Public Works and Highways' flood control project.

PRC's water tanker first-served Brgy. 870 in the Pandacan District of Manila, unloading 20,000 liters of clean water to the more than 3,000 denizens of the area on Saturday, the 30th of October.

The following day, Sunday, October 31, PRC's water tankers unloaded another 20,000 liters of potable water to more than 3,000 citizens of barangays 826 and 872, still both in Manila's Pandacan District.

PRC deployed 1 water tanker manned by 7 emergency response unit personnel for the two-day operation.

(Philippine Red Cross)
