The Department of National Defense confirms and welcomes the appointment of LtGen Andres C Centino as the incoming Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

LtGen Centino will succeed GEN Faustino Jr., who will be retiring from active military service effective today, 12 November 2021.

An outstanding military commander, LtGen Centino will bring to the post his expertise and commitment to the achievement of lasting peace and development in the country.

I am confident that LTGEN Centino will ably lead our men and women in the AFP in the pursuit of a higher degree of excellence and professionalism.

We thank Gen Faustino for his years of dedicated service to our nation and wish him all the best on his retirement.
