MANDALUYONG CITY -- Helping the government walk towards the realization protection of human health to curb the pandemic, Philippine Red Cross(PRC) drove their Bakuna Bus provided by Victory Liner to Laguna Provincial Jail to vaccinate 1000 Persons Deprived of Liberty(PDLs) with Sinovac last November 18, 2021.
As of November 19, 2021, the PRC Laguna Chapter has now administered
21,958 doses. PRC volunteers and staff have been vaccinating residents around Laguna since August 18, 2021, in their two Bakuna Buses provided by Victory Liner and one Bakuna Center in the Light Industry Science Park II (LSPI II), Barangay Real, Calamba City targeting COVID-19 priority group A4 or essential workers.
As PRC Chairman and CEO Dick Gordon hopes that the PRC will be able to help more of our fellow countrymen walk their worries away, he emphasizes the mission of the Red Cross, " Our goal is to provide hope for the most vulnerable whom we serve without discrimination. Regardless of the current challenges that we are facing, we will continue to strengthen our response as we want our inmates to be safer despite the pandemic," reiterates Gordon.
Meanwhile, last November 18 and 19, 2021, the PRC Laguna Chapter in partnership with local government, and Gardenia Philippines also deployed its Hot Meals on Wheels Food Truck to different barangays and schools for a Feeding Program as part of National Children's Month 2021.
The humanitarian organization was able to provide bread and hot soup to 250 children as part of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).
