Quezon City, Nov 22 -– The National Nutrition Council-Mimaropa will be spearheading the 2021 Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony on 23 November 2021 to be held in The Oracle Hotel and Residences, Loyola Heights, Quezon City.
Despite the challenges and limitations brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, NNC Mimaropa together with its partner agencies pursued the Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation (MELLPI) Pro using the online platform. The series of evaluation ran from June to October covering all provinces and highly-urbanized city in the region, and their local nutrition workers which includes the Provincial Nutrition Action Officers, Provincial Outstanding Municipal Nutrition Action Officers, Provincial Outstanding Local Nutrition Program Coordinators and Provincial/ City Outstanding Barangay Nutrition Scholars.
Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony is a culminating activity of the MELLPI Pro which aims to honor and recognize local government units and nutrition workers in the field of nutrition. Topperforming Provincial Nutrition Action Officer, Outstanding Municipal Nutrition Action Officer, Outstanding District/City Nutrition Program Coordinator and Outstanding Barangay Nutrition Workers in the region will be awarded virtually as well as the provinces who sustained the reduction of stunting and wasting among 0-59 months old children from 2017-2019.
Special guests are expected to deliver their messages in support to nutrition. Members of the Regional Nutrition Committee and Regional Nutrition Evaluation team are invited to join on-site while the awardees, members of the local nutrition committee, Nutrition Action Officers’ Association of the Philippines – Mimaropa, District/City Nutrition Program Coordinators’ Association of the Philippines – Mimaropa, Federation of Barangay Nutrition Scholars of Region IV-B and PROMO Nutrition Communicators will be joining online via Zoom platform.
This activity is also an opportunity to express NNC Mimaropa’s deepest gratitude to nutrition champions, supporters, and partners in the region who unceasingly contributed in the implementation of the nutrition programs in the region. (NNC)
