CALABARZON ready to vaccinate 1M per day on the 3-day National Vax days

The Department of Health (DOH) CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) Regional Director Ariel M. Valencia today assured residents that all preparations and plans are well on the way for the 3-day national vaccination days from November 29 to December 1, 2021.

Regional Director Ariel I. Valencia stated that all are vaccination teams are ready and will focus their efforts on areas where there is low vaccination coverage. “We will endeavor to reach GIDA (Geographically isolated and Disadvantaged Areas) including island communities to personally assess the situation at the ground level to enable us to provide the needed interventions including providing the proper information on Covid-19 and importance of vaccination to residents.”

“Together with the local government units, our target is to vaccinate 1 million a day. We have a total of 174 vaccination teams strategically located in various provinces where people can get their vaccine.”

Valencia also emphasized that all brands of vaccines are safe. “Huwag na po tayong mamili pa ng brand ng vaccine dahil lahat ng ito ay ligtas gamitin. These vaccines will protect you and your family and I encourage you to proceed to your nearest vaccination centers during the 3-day vaccination day and get vaccinated. Let us do our part in helping eliminate Covid-19,” he emphasized.

Available vaccines that will be used are Sinovac, Moderna, Gamaleya Sputnik V, Pfizer and AstraZeneca.

Among the target eligible population to be vaccinated in the provinces are - Batangas with 596, 193 residents, Cavite with 722, 217, Laguna with 604,698, Quezon with 396,732, Rizal with 616,581 (or 205,527 and Lucena City with 63,579.

“We will strengthen our efforts and health promotion activities in these areas at kung kailangang magbahay-bahay upang kumbinsihin ang mga residente na magpabakuna ay gagawin namin upang maibigay ang proteksiyon kinakailangan nila laban sa Covid virus,” Valencia stressed.

The 3-day activity will be done in coordination with various regional agencies including the DILG, PNP, BJMP, BFP, OCD, DOLE (for ecozones) and DEPED.

Additional health human resource from NCR hospitals, volunteers and DOH central office including regional staff will also be deployed to different vaccination sites during the 3-day event. (DOH4A)
