MANDALUYONG CITY -- With the unwavering commitment to helping curb the COVID-19 pandemic, the Philippine Red Cross(PRC) started strong as they administered 13,003 doses of COVID-19 vaccines during the first day of the National Vaccination drive on November 29, 2021.
According to the PRC Health Services, the PRC Bakuna Centers administered 1,909 doses, while the PRC Bakuna Buses provided 6,487 doses. The PRC also deployed hundreds of its volunteers and staff to support local government-run Bakuna Centers to provide over 4,607 doses.
Meanwhile, despite the continuous decline in COVID-19 cases in many parts of the country, the PRC advises the public to take extra precautions especially as the World Health Organisation (WHO) announced a new COVID-19 variant of concern named Omicron.
As the PRC Chairman and CEO Senator Dick Gordon reiterates, "Even if there are fewer COVID-19 cases now, I want to remind everyone to keep your guard up. If you do not have to go out, do not go out. It is best to always predict, plan, prepare, and practice. It is the best way we can keep ourselves, our loved ones, and our community safe." (Philippine Red Cross)
