PNP Chief to allow PNP personnel to spend Christmas with their families

QUEZON CITY -- Philippine National Police Chief, Police General Dionardo Carlos is keen on giving police personnel the opportunity to spend time with their family this Christmas.

To make this possible, the top cop announced during the ceremonial lighting of Christmas lights at the PNP headquarters in Camp Crame that the PNP will implement a scheme that will allow personnel to perform duty near their homes.

“I am asking the Directorate for Personnel and Records Management to find a way for commissioned and non-commissioned officers to perform their duties away from their original assignments if needed,” Carlos said.

He stressed that this work arrangement isn’t new since it was first implemented during the time of former PNP Chief Ronald Dela Rosa.

“The policy of cancelled holiday vacation for police personnel will be sustained but at least they will have the opportunity to still spend Christmas with their families,” Carlos added.

Police officers will be deployed to police stations which are nearest to their homes. They can also serve as an augmentation force if there will be emergencies that will require their assistance. (PNP)
