NAVAL, Biliran -- The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Biliran District Engineering Office (DEO) attained 79.24% accomplishment of its 2021 infra project implementation as of November 30.
According to District Engineer Ferdinand A. Briones, the district office surpassed the 71.38% scheduled target accomplishment for the said month by over 7%.
Out of the 108 infrastructure projects, 79 projects have already been completed, 25 are on-going and four projects are yet to be started.
Briones said that most of its high impact infrastructure projects categorized as For Later Release (FLR) have already commenced.
These projects include the construction of access road leading to Imelda Falls Phase 1 and Phase 2 amounting to P42.8-M and P36.3-M, respectively; the road widening along Biliran Circumferential Road (BCR), Brgy. Tomalistis in Caibiran town (P48.6-M); the road widening at Brgy. Balite - Masagaosao in Kawayan town (P47.4-M); the construction of road from Sitio Magtaran-an Talustusan to Sampao in support of the resource-based processing in Naval town (P43.9-M); the construction of Maripipi Infirmary Hospital (New Ward and Outpatient Building) in Maripipi town (P24.3-M); and the Reconstruction of Bridge in Brgy. Población, Almeria amounting to P46.8-M.
To date, Biliran DEO has already completed some P24.6-M asphalt overlay projects, some 270-M rehabilitation/reconstruction of roads with slips, slope collapse and landslide, some P30-M road widening projects, P15-M diversion road project, P5-M rehabilitation of permanent bridge and some P260-M construction/maintenance of flood mitigation structures.
The district office has also completed some P456.3-M worth of Local Infrastructure Projects out of the P699.3-M allocation from Local Infra Program which includes the construction/repair/improvement of various infrastructure buildings and other structures such as multipurpose buildings, drainages and flood control structures, local roads and local bridges projects.
DPWH-Biliran DEO has been allotted P1.77B under 2021 General Appropriation Act (GAA) funds for the implementation of 108 infrastructure projects which are now being fast-tracked for completion. (DPWH-BDEO)
