DPWH-TCDEO activates DRRM Team in preparation for ‘Odette’

TACLOBAN CITY -- The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) - Tacloban City District Engineering Office (TCDEO) field officials and personnel are now on alert in preparation for the incoming severe tropical storm with local name Odette that is expected to enter the region this week.

Maintenance personnel and crew have been instructed to make early preparations such as clearing of inlets, cleaning of lined canals, trimming and pruning activities to prevent blockage of drainages and overflowing of water causing major flooding and any untoward incidents that may happen before, during and after typhoon.

Moreover, all available and operational equipment are now prepared and strategically positioned for easy deployment on road sections prone to landslides and flash floods.

All office’s Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) Team are directed to be on alert and adopt necessary preparatory actions and expeditious response as well as provide accurate information to ensure the safety and mobility of all motorists and the general public. (DPWH-TCDEO)
