PH Navy receives donations from Rotary Club of Manila for typhoon victims in Cebu

NAVAL STATION JOSE ANDRADA, Manila -- The Philippine Navy (PN) received here on Tuesday, December 21 the donated 20 sacks each of “banig" and blanket, eight sacks of slippers, and eight units of solar generators intended for the typhoon victims in Cebu.

These donated items are among the cargoes that the BRP Tarlac (LD601) is transporting to Cebu tonight.

The donations came from the Rotary Club of Manila spearheaded by Dir. Rafael Alunan and its president, Chito Zaldarriaga. Also with them were the club's president-elect, Hermie Esguerra, assistant to Director Alunan, Iñaki Jose, and Star Rotarian Mike Albana.

The PN Flag Officer In Command, Vice Adm. Adeluis Bordado received the donations along with Chief of Naval Staff Rear Adm. Caesar Bernard Valencia, and Assistant Chief of Naval Staff for Civil Military Operations (CMO), Capt. Jonathan Zata.

This effort bespeaks the positive gains of the Navy's sustained partnerships with different sectors and stakeholders, especially during this time of calamity. (PN)
