Gordon deploys additional food truck, water tanker to assist Bohol, Surigao del Norte

MANDALUYONG CITY -- The spirit of volunteerism prevails this Christmas Season as the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) continues to aid the most vulnerable. On Christmas Eve, PRC Chairman and CEO Sen. Richard "Dick" Gordon deployed an additional water tanker and food truck to assist Bohol and Cebu .

Gordon sent the water tanker to Bohol due to the high demand for clean and potable water since electricity and water lines have yet to be restored. The water tanker will prevent diarrhea cases from rising in the areas.

The food truck is deployed to Surigao del Norte to distribute ready-to-eat meals at the evacuation centers.

“Our celebration of Christmas is helping other people who need it the most. Patuloy ang ating operasyon kahit na pasko kaya saludo ako sa aming mga staff at volunteers na walang pagod na tumutulong sa mga apektado ni Typhoon Odette,” Gordon said. (Philippine Red Cross)
