DTI SoCot joins LGUs in delivery of business registration services

KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato (PIA) – The Department of Trade and Industry South Cotabato (DTI-SC) through its Negosyo Centers joins the local governments units and other government line agencies in the province to streamline the issuance of business permits and licenses.

The month of January is one of the busiest months of the year among business owners as it marks the registration and renewal of their business permits and licenses.

To facilitate the ease of doing business, LGUs have set up business one-stop shops (BOSS) in their respective areas where application and renewal of business permits and licenses including business name registrations can be made in one area.

In South Cotabato, the LGUs of Koronadal and Tupi were among those who started the BOSS on Monday, January 3, the first Monday of the year.

Rictoniel Reginio, provincial director of DTI-SC said that the 12 Negosyo Centers all over South Cotabato are ready to cater to the needs of the business owners not just in facilitating their business name registration but more importantly with the needed know-how in starting and managing a business through free business consultation.

“All the business counselors of our Negosyo Centers here in South Cotabato are ready to assist the business owners in their application and renewal of business names, as well as to provide them with business advisory services,” said Reginio.

Part of the streamlining initiatives of DTI is the Business Name Registration System (BNRS) Next Gen, a web-based portal that allows end-to-end registration of business name for sole proprietors where application, payment and downloading of business name certificate can be made online.

Reginio added that the public are encouraged to use the online portal for easy and convenient business name registration.

The BNRS portal can be accessed through https://bnrs.dti.gov.ph.

Under the RA 3883 or the Business Name Law, sole proprietor businesses must register their business names with DTI.

DTI Business Name provides legal identity and protection to the public dealing with a business establishment through disclosure of the identity of the person owning the business as well as the nature of the business.
