MANILA -- As the fight against the coronavirus continues, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) ensures that it mitigates the impact of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in our country and among its employees through effective preventive measures and solutions.
Since the onset of the pandemic, the BOC released a total of 16,102 shipments of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other medical supplies. In addition, 313 shipments of COVID-19 vaccines consisting of 210,448,870 doses were facilitated in full support of the Philippine Government’s national program to fight the adverse effects brought about by the deadly virus.
With the Bureau’s unwavering commitment in boosting its operational capabilities to effectively serve the public during this difficult time, it equally gives great importance to the welfare of its personnel. Social distancing is implemented inside the BOC premises and all offices are regularly disinfected. In addition, the agency procured 5,400 boxes of face masks, 1,000 gallons of alcohol, 500 pieces of disinfectant sprays, 10 boxes of Antigen test kits, 20 pieces of alcohol dispensers, 20 pieces of air purifiers, and 20 sets of thermal scanners equipped with alcohol dispensers which were deployed around the BOC premises, available for the use of the Bureau’s frontline employees.
The BOC also encourages all its employees to be inoculated through its vaccination campaign.
