MANDALUYONG CITY -- The Philippine Red Cross (PRC), through the leadership of Chairman and CEO Sen. Dick Gordon, continues to conduct response operations in typhoon Odette devastated Bohol as they conducted hygiene promotion activities for 4,708 residing in the municipalities of Talibon and Ubay (Poblacion, Talibon, and San Pascual) last January 18, 2022.
"Even more than a month after Typhoon Odette made landfall in Bohol and several other provinces in Visayas and Mindanao, our Red Cross volunteers and staff continue to urgently respond to hard-hit communities with our daily operations from deploying our water tankers and food trucks to putting up medical tents to strengthen disease surveillance," Gordon said in a statement. "We won't stop responding to be able to reach more affected communities giving them hope in these trying times," Gordon adds.
Apart from holding sessions on hygiene promotion, PRC volunteers and staff also distributed 36,000 liters of water to 5 barangays in the Municipality of Trinidad and Ubay (Bongbong, Hinlayagan, Fatima, Imelda & San Pascual).
As of January 19, 2022, the PRC Bohol Chapter distributed 749,500 liters of water and held sessions on hygiene promotion for 14,804 individuals. (Philippine Red Cross)
