Sale of vax cards strongly prohibited -- DOH 8

TACLOBAN CITY (PIA) -- With the implementation of the “No Vaccination Card, No Entry” policy in some of the business establishments in Tacloban City, the Department of Health Eastern Visayas Center for Health and Development (DOH-EVCHD) strongly warns public to refrain from selling of vaccination cards.

The health department in the region said in a report that only DOH authorized vaccination centers can release a vaccination card to a person eligible for one, and that the agency denounces the circulating social media posts claiming that one can facilitate the personalization and sale of vaccination cards.

The warning also stemmed up after the recent Regional Inter-Agency Task Force 8 recommendations and resolutions from the Local Government Units (LGUs), which limit and restrict the mobility of unvaccinated individuals in the region. With this, the health agency reminds the public to be vigilant and report to the proper authorities any related act.

The DOH further stated that falsification of vaccination cards may lead to public health risks, considering the rapid transmission of the virus and the emergence of its variants. Hence, reminding the public that withholding accurate information and showing counterfeit data can cause harm or even death to the vulnerable members of the community.

“Let us not get our way around the rules and regulations posted by our local government. Truthful and honest information can help us in our fight against COVID-19,” the DOH-8 said in its report. (LDL/GTT with reports from DOH-8)
