We put Palawan first: PRC continues response in Odette-stricken Palawan

MANDALUYONG CITY -- With the consistent drive of the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) volunteers to stay true to PRC's mandate of preventing and alleviating human suffering and uplifting human dignity, the humanitarian organization continues its operations in Super Typhoon Odette-stricken Palawan.

On December 26, 2022, volunteers from the local chapter drove a water tanker to three areas in Brgy. New Barbacan, Roxas to distribute 25 liters of water to each beneficiary.

Another team of volunteers gave out hot meals and held a session on hygiene promotion for 250 individuals in Brgy. Abaroan. Volunteers also provided hygiene kits for 164 beneficiaries.

As of January 26, 2022, the PRC Palawan Chapter distributed 471,000 liters of water, gave out 8,940 hot meals, and provided food items to 1,809 individuals affected by the recent Super Typhoon.

Giving hope is our calling, so PRC volunteers continue to work around the clock to provide urgent aid to communities hit by the Super Typhoon. " Kusang loob, malasakit, at kapwa tao - ito ang mga katangian ng mga Red Cross volunteers at staff na laging handang tumulong sa mga tao," reiterates Chairman and CEO Senator Dick Gordon.
