TACLOBAN CITY -- The Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 8 (DA-8) joined the relief operations to areas in Southern Leyte affected by the onslaught of Typhoon Odette.
On January 13, DA-8 Regional Director Angel Enriquez turned over to the Local Government Unit of Limasawa, represented by Mayor Melchor Petracorta, the relief goods donated by the Department of Agriculture – Bicol Region and Department of Agriculture Employees Association-5 (DAEA-5).
These include 50 bags milled rice, 200 pieces laminated sacks, 500 pieces canned sardines, 20 pieces solar lights, 4 boxes noodles, and 100 pieces 500ml mineral water.
The DA-8 staff and employees also donated 50 jugs of purified water and used clothing.
Director Enriquez also met with Governor Damian G. Mercado of Southern Leyte to extend assistance to Southern Leyteños as part of the Typhoon Odette response from the DA Family.
The items provided to the PLGU-Southern Leyte included 100 bags milled rice, 199 kg vegetable seeds, 40 bottles oxytetracycline, 20 bottles B-complex, 40 boxes vetracine classic, and 15 boxes Amoxil-V. (DA-RFO VIII, RAFIS)
