PRC distributes kitchen sets to 826 individuals in Cebu

MANDALUYONG CITY -- The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) traveled to Pinamungahan, Cebu to distribute full kitchen sets to 826 beneficiaries affected by Super Typhoon Odette (international name: Rai).

PRC Chairman and CEO Sen. Dick Gordon said that the beneficiaries of the kitchen sets are families from the Municipality of Pinamungahan, one of the hardest-hit areas after the storm’s landfall, having totally lost their houses due to the recent Category 5 typhoon.

Chairman Gordon mobilized the PRC Cebu Chapter to assess and conduct the relief distribution in 4 barangays in Pinamungahan, Cebu. PRC provided kitchen sets to 153 families in Brgy. Tupas, 203 families in Brgy. Tangub, 328 families in Brgy. Busay, and 142 families in Brgy. Opao.

Continuous service by PRC water tankers were also conducted and already distributed 2k liters of clean drinking water in Brgy. Obo, Argao, 2k liters in Brgy. Upper Obo, Argao, 10k liters in Brgy. Obo, Dalaguete, 12k liters in Brgy. Arbor, Boljoon, and 12k liters in Brgy. Gawi, Oslob.

“Kahit na mahigit isang buwan na ang lumipas simula nang hagupitin ng Typhoon Odette ang probinsya ng Cebu, patuloy pa rin ang ating pagbibigay ng tulong sapagkat marami pa rin ang nakakaramdam ng epekto ng bagyo. The Red Cross is always there to support and alleviate the suffering of our fellow Filipinos until they can get back on their feet,” Chairman Gordon said.

PRC continues its Typhoon Odette operations and has distributed 1,157 food items, P3,500 multipurpose cash grants to 928 individuals, hygiene kits, sleeping kits, jerry cans, blankets, mosquito nets, and tarpaulins to 988 families. They have also provided
hot meals to 17,297 individuals, and distributed 1,906,695 liters of clean and potable water. (Philippine Red Cross)
