MANILA -- The country's official regulating body of the Filipino language, Komisyon ng Wikang Filipino (KWF) is once again in a hunt for this year's most outstanding institution or writer who would receive the "Gawad Dangal ng Panitikan".
KWF would be accepting nominees for the Dangal ng Panitikan 2022 up until February 24.
The Gawad Dangal ng Panitikan is a lifetime achievement award that recognizes individuals whose work has led to the development of Philippine literature and culture.
Nominations are open to institutions and/or writers, male or female, who have contributed to the enrichment of Philippine literature. Contributions must demonstrate respect for the culture, ego, and rich heritage of the Filipino people, as well as the language's distinctive tools.
To qualify, nominated individuals must be forty (40) years of age or older. For organizations, offices, government agencies, and/or the private sector, it must have been established for at least five (5) years.
Nominees must also be able to present proof or portfolio of work/s of their contribution to Filipino literature and the Philippines' native languages.
Furthermore, the following documents must be completed in a long brown envelop:
• Nomination letter stating a summary of the qualification of the nominated individual or organization and signed by the nominee
• Curriculum vitae (if individual) or organizations profile (if organizational)
• Evidence in the collection of works that show an appreciation for culture, ego, and heritage, in addition to the unique tools of the Filipino language
