Spreading love through water: Red Cross water tankers go to Negros Oriental

MANDALUYONG CITY -- In celebration of Valentine’s Day 2021, the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) continues to provide clean and potable water in Negros Oriental as it distributed 15,000 liters of water in Brgy. Campus, Manjuyod last February 14, 2022. PRC also conducted a mobile blood donation and collected 39 blood units in Guihulngan.

Two months after Typhoon Odette battered the provinces in the Visayas and Mindanao region, local PRC chapters continue to conduct humanitarian interventions to aid the most vulnerable affected by the typhoon. PRC also conducted house-to-house validations in Cabanlutan, Bais City, and coordinated with the LGUs for shelter assistance in Bais City.

“Hindi natin papabayaan ang mga apektado ng bagyo. Narito lagi ang Red Cross handang tumulong sa mga nangangailangan sa panahon ng bagyo, kalamidad, at pandemya. As we abide to our motto of being always first, always ready, and always there,” PRC Chairman and CEO Sen. Dick Gordon said.

Since the start of Odette operations in Negros Oriental, PRC has provided 3,911 face masks, 2,926 food packs, 6,289 hot meals, and distributed 1,039,318 liters of water. (Philippine Red Cross)
