Inclusive pandemic recovery pushed as Bong Go’s office provides assistance to indigent families in Quezon City

PASAY CITY -- Senator Christopher “Bong” Go distributed assistance to 100 indigent families in Quezon City in an activity held at the Jordanville Homes Open Basketball Court, Barangay Baesa on Monday, February 14.

“Ang aming opisina, meron pong ipapamahagi sa inyo, konting tulong, pagkain at mask, suotin ninyo po dahil delikado pa ang panahon,” Go said in a video message for the beneficiaries.

Aside from the said assistance, select families were also provided with bicycles while tablets were given to several children to use in school.

Huwag natin biguin ang ating mga magulang,” he reminded the children in the audience.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development likewise gave aid in the form of cash assistance and food packs through its Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation program.

To the beneficiaries with serious medical issues, Go encouraged them to reach out to his team and pledged to help them obtain the treatment they required.

He also informed them of the Malasakit Centers in various Department of Health-run hospitals throughout Metro Manila where they can conveniently apply for financial and medical aid from the DOH, DSWD, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation and Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office.

The Malasakit Centers in Quezon City are located at Lung Center of the Philippines, Novaliches District Hospital, Philippine Heart Center, Philippine Children's Medical Center, National Kidney and Transplant Institute, East Avenue Medical Center, Veterans Memorial Medical Center, Philippine Orthopedic Center, and National Children's Hospital.

The Senator then expressed his appreciation towards the local government officials of Quezon City for spearheading their community and providing immeasurable services to help their constituents in need amid the crisis situations.

Go, being Vice Chair of the Senate Committee on Finance, extended his support in several projects that would boost public service delivery in Quezon City, such as the construction of multi-purpose buildings in Brgys. Project 6, Capri, and Bagbag; rehabilitation of road networks in Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center, enhancements for the Veterans Memorial Medical Center; construction of a multi-purpose building in Camp Aguinaldo, and many others.
