DPWH-Biliran to implement P2.65-B infra projects for 2022

NAVAL, Biliran -- The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) - Biliran District Engineering Office (DEO) will implement various high impact infrastructure projects this year amounting to P2.65-B.

District Engineer Ferdinand A. Briones said that from the P1.77-B budget from 2021, the district office has an increased allocation by almost 50% for 2022 under the General Appropriations Act (GAA).

This year, Biliran DEO will be implementing a total of 120 infrastructure projects.

Of these projects, P684.1-M is to be implemented under its Asset Preservation Program. These projects include two asphalt overlays (P45.4-M), one rehabilitation/upgrading of one damaged paved road (P50-M), 11 rehabilitation/reconstruction of roads with slips, slope collapse and landslide (P539-M) and three construction/rehabilitation of drainages along national roads (P49.7-M).

Biliran DEO will also implement projects under its Network Development Program which include 11 road widening (P464.75-M) and two bypass/diversion roads (P80-M) with a total amount of P544.75-M.

The district office will also implement one bridge rehabilitation worth P50-M and five bridge widening (P105-M) with a total amount of P155-M under its Bridge Program.

Under the district’s Flood Management Program, a total of P518-M is allocated for the construction/ maintenance of 26 flood mitigation structures and drainage systems.

A total of P701-M will also be implemented under its Convergence and Special Support Program which include the construction/improvement of three access roads leading to declared tourism destinations under Tourism Road Infrastructure Program (TRIP), P150-M for construction/improvement of three access roads leading to Trade, Industries and Economic Zones under Roads Leveraging Linkages of Industry and Trade (ROLL IT) Program, P292-M for the construction/improvement of 15 projects under the Sustainable Infrastructure Projects Alleviating Gaps (SIPAG) Program and P164-M for the construction/ improvement of 34 projects under Basic Infrastructure Program (BIP)

Moreover, three projects will also be implemented under the Local Program with a total amount of P55-M.

To date, Biliran DEO has an overall accomplishment of 77.51% for its Preliminary and Detailed Engineering Activities (PDE) with 119 projects already bid out and 68 projects issued with Notice to Proceed (NTP). (DPWH-BDEO)
