PASAY CITY -- The Office of Senator Christopher “Bong” Go distributed assistance to hundreds of struggling residents in Ermita and Paco, Manila on Tuesday, March 1.
In his video message, the senator also encouraged the public anew to continue supporting the government’s vaccination efforts.
“Wala itong pilitan pero kung eligible kayo, magpaturok na kayo upang maiwasan pa ang pagkalat ng COVID-19. Sa mga fully vaccinated na, maaari na rin po kayong magpa-booster,” stressed Go.
The senator’s team conducted the activities at the 1281 Onyx Building Function Hall in Paco and Everwin Hotel Roofdeck Function Hall in Ermita, where they handed out meals and masks to 332 residents as well as new pairs of shoes, bicycles, and computer tablets to select individuals.
In addition, representatives from the Department of Social Welfare and Development separately extended financial support through its Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation program.
Go, as Chair of the Senate Committee on Health and Demography, then advised the beneficiaries in need of medical attention to avail of the services of any of the Malasakit Centers in the Metro Manila.
The Malasakit Centers program reduces a patient’s hospital bill to the lowest amount possible by covering various medical services and expenses. To date, there are 151 centers that have benefited over three million Filipinos nationwide. Go is the principal author and sponsor of the Malasakit Centers Act of 2019.
