NAVAL, Biliran -- The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) - Biliran District Engineering Office (DEO) has substantially completed the widening of two major bridges in Brgy. Busali, Biliran town.
The Busali and Moog bridges now have two additional lanes, one on each side with a 30-meter span for Busali Bridge and 35-meter span for Moog Bridge amounting to P20.5-M and P30.6-M, respectively, under CY 2021 funding.
District Engineer Ferdinand A. Briones said the completion of these project will accommodate the increasing volume of traffic and improve the safety and comfort of the travelling public. These bridges are essential because along this section is the province’s major thoroughfare from mainland Leyte to the capital town of Naval and vice versa.
Meanwhile, one bridge widening is now ongoing under CY 2022 funding. This project is the widening of Gueron Bridge (B00054BR) along Naval-Caibiran Cross Country Road (NCCCR) amounting to P23.2-M.
Under CY 2022, DPWH-Biliran DEO will implement a total of five bridge widening projects. These projects are the widening of Alawihaw Bridge (B00059BR), Cabadiangan Bridge (B00060BR), Dispo Bridge (B00053BR), Gueron Bridge (B00054BR) along NCCCR, and Santol Bridge (B00028BR) along Biliran Circumferential Road.
The district office will be implementing bridge widening projects to complement the widened roads in the Province of Biliran. (DPWH-BDEO)
