MANDALUYONG CITY -- The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) was able to vaccinate 3,220 individuals against COVID-19 across the country last March 17, 2022. There were 1,798 persons vaccinated at the Bakuna Centers, 415 in Bakuna Buses, and 1,007 by different Bakuna teams. The Bakuna teams were comprised of 160 Red Cross staff members and volunteers who carried out the vaccinations as part of Red Cross’s continuing effort to fight COVID-19.
Through the leadership of its Chairman and CEO, Sen. Dick Gordon, PRC has administered 1,092,734 doses, with 395,085 persons fully vaccinated while 69,838 booster shots have been administered.
"Nandito kami mula pa nang magsimula ang pandemic, at tuluy-tuloy na sumusuporta sa gobyerno para labanan ang COVID-19," Chairman Gordon said.
The vaccinations were done in partnership with local governments or through PRC’s Bakuna Buses. The Bakuna Buses is PRC’s way of bringing protection from COVID-19 directly to the people, assuaging their hesitation to get vaccinated.
The vaccinations were done in the following places: Marawi City; Bogo, Cebu; Roxas City; Bacolod City; Zamboanga City; General Santos City; Butuan City; Lapu-Lapu City; Bauang; Letran Manila; Surigao City; Cagayan de Oro City; Tuguegarao City; Butuan City; Bataan; and Mandaluyong City.
